Lives & works in Hong Kong.
After studying at Beaux-Arts in Rennes (France) and architecture/ product design at Camondo in Paris, Nicolas left to travel for almost a year all around Asia.
2001 , Nicolas stopped in Singapore where he opened a creative studio/showroom, doing art direction for brands and hosting exhibitions (such as ChinArt town, where he had his first solo show).
He becames afterwards creative director for Chanel which sent him to Tokyo, Japan, in 2008.
His second solo exhibition “the state I am in” was hosted in the Chanel building in Tokyo, in 2012.
After 5 years in Japan, he moved to Hong Kong, still as an creative director, and also own an independent music label in China.
2016. Hong Kong. He teamed up with photographer Vanessa Franklin to present a collaborative project “Lives & works in Hong Kong” , a series of portraits mixing photography and ink.
2017. Shanghai. ArtCN gallery welcomes his first solo show in China : “Land(e)scapes”, an invitation through blue ink sceneries of mental travels.
2018. Tokyo . The French Chamber of commerce invites him to show his work through a live performance with the French singer Juliette Armanet.
2018. Hong Kong. The Hong Kong Visual Art Centre invites him to show his Land(e)scapes series to support children education in the Philippines.
2018. Paris. First solo show in Paris, at By Chatel Gallery.
2018. Paris. Paris Contemporary Art Show / at Carreau du Temple.
2018. Hong Kong. First solo show in Hong Kong, at La Galerie HK.
2019. Taipei. "Ink Now”, first international contemporary art fair in Taiwan
Nicolas works mostly with ink, on paper, using objects (kimono, Japanese wooden shoes, mahjong dices, stamps, ink rollers, wood blocks…) .
